In order to be good at something, you have to love doing it. It is very obvious that Chad Cain loves musky fishing.

My fishing partner and I have fished with Chad Cain in Minnesota, Wisconsin, & Illinois. Each time we have fished with him, fish have been caught. Chad’s knowledge of the musky is second to none, and it is this knowledge that he openly and willingly shares with his clients. He WANTS you to learn from him. I know I have learned a great deal from him, and he has shown me things that have been invaluable to me in my pursuit of the musky.

When pulling up to a structure, Chad not only explains what type of structure it is, but gives you the general shape of the structure and explains where to direct your casts to maximize your chances at hooking a fish.

Chad is also very personable. He is easy to get along with and he wants his clients to have a good time while out with him. The equipment he furnishes to his clients is top notch and well maintained. One thing that I really like, is Chad fishes from the back of the boat. He lets his clients have the first casts into a new area.

While what I am about to say next is negative, it does speak highly of Chad’s ability to not only find fish, but find big fish. My fishing partner (who shall remain nameless) has hooked and lost two muskies that were over 50” while fishing with Chad. One in Wisconsin and one in Minnesota. Through no fault of anyone, both fish managed to come unbuttoned before they got close enough for Chad to net them.

To anyone considering hiring a musky guide, I would highly recommend Chad Cain. You won’t be disappointed. I have fished with him in the past and I will continue to fish with him for a long time into the future
